On my neverending journey to find a hobby that sticks, I came across Salt Lake Sewciety. Let me tell you, it’s more than just a fabric store. This vibrant community hub connects people who share a passion for sewing.
Whether you made a pillowcase once in junior high (me) or you’re looking to advance your technique, they have classes that cater to all skill levels. And since the store is small, they’re constantly rotating through fabrics, which means there’s always something new to find.
Where Is It?
Make your way through the Sugar House construction maze to find them at 1191 S. 1100 E. They’re located in the alley south of the white Engel & Volkers building. They’re open everyday except for Sundays and Mondays.
Kids Camp
If you have a little one who is interested in learning how to sew, they have Kids Camp programs every month from April-August.
Me Made May
What better time to learn to sew than ahead of Me Made May. This sewing holiday is a challenge to wear at least one of your handmade creations everyday in May. Salt Lake Sewciety’s kickoff event is Saturday, April 27 from 6-8 p.m.
