Looking to explore art, science, and history without breaking the bank? Salt Lake City offers a number of amazing museums with free or donation-based admission. Here’s a quick guide to some of the best spots to visit.

Utah Museum of Contemporary Art | 20 S. West Temple (Downtown SLC)

Admission is technically free, though a $10 donation is suggested. Stop by on Family Art Saturday to create a fun art project led by a trained educator and inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions.

Clark Planetarium | 110 S. 400 W. (Downtown SLC)

If you grew up in Salt Lake, you probably went here on a school field trip. It’s still a great place to explore all things space and science.

Utah Museum of Fine Arts | 410 Campus Center Dr. (University)

The first Wednesday and third Saturday are free days at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. Check out their free workshops, too!

I can never get enough of the dinos at the Natural History Museum of Utah. They offer free admission for select visitors, including University of Utah students and faculty, members of Utah’s Tribal Nations, and more.
