Where I’d Take Kacey Musgraves in Salt Lake

Country music singer Kacey Musgraves is headlining the RedWest Fest in Salt Lake City this week. Here’s where I would take her around town and which of her songs we’d listen to along the way.

🎵 Listening to: “Lonely Millionaire"

Kacey Musgraves released an Erewhon smoothie (shipping soon to SLC?) earlier this year. The closest dupe we have is probably Aubergine Kitchen’s Blue Wave smoothie. And bonus: It doesn’t cost $20+ dollars.

🎵 Listening to: “Anime Eyes”

A longtime fan of anime and Miyazaki films (she even voiced a character and recorded the theme song for a Studio Ghibli movie), I’d take her to eat sushi and watch “Princess Mononoke” at Under Wraps.

🎵 Listening to: “Slow Burn”

Apparently, the girl loves an extra cold martini, so I’m taking her to The Vault inside Hotel Monaco. Then we’d keep the party going with a cocktail crawl.

Birding

🎵 Listening to: “Cardinal” or her cover of “Three Little Birds”

She’s a self-proclaimed, avid watcher of European Starling videos, so we’ll try to catch sight of a flock IRL by going birding at Miller Bird Refuge and Nature Park or Antelope Island (I’ll bring the bug spray!).

🎵 Listening to: “Dinner With Friends”

Lastly, we’ll grab Post Malone, Kacey’s co-headliner at RedWest Fest, and head to Posty’s pink Raising Cane’s in Midvale.
