When I was 15, my family moved to Daybreak before it had everything it has today. Sure, it’s always been a little Stepford-y, but it’s also where I stayed out late playing night games with friends, landed my first job cleaning the elementary school, and met some of the best neighbors I’ve ever had. And now? It might actually be even cooler.
🚆 Getting There
It’s a long trek, but taking the TRAX Red Line is so convenient. It takes you straight there, and then you don’t have to worry about parking.
If you love a sourdough crust pizza, Mozz is a must-try. Don’t sleep on the cheese bread and the chocolate chip cookie.

You could spend the whole day at Megaplex at Downtown Daybreak. (Molly Miloscia/City Cast Salt Lake)
Megaplex is leveling up with a brand new entertainment center featuring movie theaters, bowling, and arcade. Don’t miss their grand opening celebration this weekend, Oct. 24-26, for discounts and exclusive perks.
More than just a coffee shop, Land of a Thousand Hills offers food, soda, wine, and even hosts regular events (like mic nights and paint nights). It’s a great place to catch up with a friend. Grab a seat on the patio while the weather’s still nice!
A local favorite for a reason, the frozen custard is rich and creamy, and there are a ton of flavors to choose from. The perfect treat to round out your day in Daybreak.
