When you’re eating out, you wanna go for the best bites in town to get the best bang for your buck. Here’s what me and some of my City Cast Salt Lake team have been loving lately.
After a brief hiatus, Uncle Boggy’s is back and better than ever. This sandwich pop-up in Utah County offers a different sandwich each time with a side, drink, and cookie. I got my hands on the Italia made with crispy prosciutto, fresh peaches, and heirloom tomatoes on fluffy focaccia.
🔥 Hot tip: Make sure to sign up for reminders on their website; their last drop sold out in less than 10 minutes. Preorders usually open Thursday for a Saturday pickup.
I’m on tiffin TikTok and it always has me craving Indian food. My neighborhood go-to spot is Star of India, which reopened this year in a new location at 1000 S. Main Street. I order the roti, chicken tikka masala, and mango lassi.
🔥 Hot tip: Order the onion salad, too. It comes with raw tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, peppers, and a lemon wedge and really adds a fresh brightness to your plate.
“The Hokkaido scallops at Handle were the most gorgeous, velvety scallops I've ever tried. They were served in a coconut milk broth that was a little limey and a little spicy: a perfect bite.” — City Cast Salt Lake executive producer Emily Means
🔥 Hot tip: Don’t sleep on the appetizers; they often steal the show. Order a bunch to share with the table.
We originally wanted a regular mango sticky rice, but the gal at the counter recommended the sundae instead, since the fresh mango wasn’t ripe at the time. Loved the sticky rice on the bottom mixed with the ice cream and crunchy honeycomb on top.
🔥 Hot tip: Trust the staff recs; they know what’s best!
